Yes! Many of our Northwest Georgia customers are surprised to learn that Matt’s father, Jerry Brown, built their pool in the 80s or 90s, while Matt was personally involved in building over 1500 pools in the Tri-State area over the past 20 years. His fantastic memory of these pools assures customers they are in good hands with Providence Pools.

Size and condition of the pool bottom and liner track are the biggest factors in the costs of a new vinyl liner. We can typically provide a customized quote over the phone after asking a few questions about your pool. Generally speaking, most customers spend $4,500-$6,500 with us on liner replacements. We encourage you to contact us for more details.

If your pool isn’t holding water anymore, it may be time to replace your liner. While water loss can come from equipment issues, it could also be caused by holes in the liner. Often, homeowners will patch small holes in the liner as a temporary solution. However, as a liner ages it will become more brittle and multiple holes can be a sign that your liner has reached the end of its effectiveness.
Some homeowners choose to replace a liner for cosmetic reasons. Liners will fade over time, and a replacement provides a refreshed look.

All liners come with a manufacturer’s warranty. The exact terms will depend on the manufacturer. Please reach out for more information.

We typically see an average lifespan of 7-10 years on liners. However, it is not uncommon for well-kept pools to have liners that are over 10 years old! Proper cleaning and maintaining correct water chemistry are the best ways to get more longevity from your liner.
-
Vinyl liner thickness is measured in mils (1 mil = 1/1000”), with 20-30 mil being the most common. We have not seen a noticeable difference in the overall longevity based on liner thickness. We typically recommend selecting the liner pattern you like best, regardless of thickness. However, for those customers with kids or pets who would like additional peace of mind about pool toys and debris, we would suggest a thicker liner.
Ultimately, the most important factor in any vinyl liner pool is maintaining cleanliness and water chemistry.
-
For most pools, the actual installation is done in 1 day. Draining the pool and refilling with water must also be taken into account. On average, the pool would not be swimmable for about 5 days.

Our Liner Replacement Process
1. Get a Quote
Give us a call, or request a quote online. We will ask you some questions about your pool and, in most cases, can immediately provide you with a price for your liner replacement.
2. Assess Pool and Select Liner Pattern
In some cases we will need to assess the pool and take measurements before giving a price. After that, it’s time to select a liner pattern from our wide range of choices.
3. Contract
We will send you the contract digitally. After signing, we will order the liner and place you on our active jobs list.
4. Drain the Pool
We will let you know a few days before your install date that it’s time to drain your pool.
5. Remove Old Liner and Repair Bottom
The first thing you will see us do on install day is tearing out the old liner. Then, we will make any necessary repairs to the pool bottom to ensure a smooth surface for the new liner.
6. Install New Liner
Your new vinyl liner is unboxed and tucked in around the perimeter of your pool. We take great care during this step to get the best fit possible. A vacuum behind the liner will temporarily hold it in place.
7. Fill the Pool
We will get the water running to fill the pool and will provide you with instructions on how high to fill it. Once it is partially filled we will return, remove the vacuum, and do final touches like cutting in the steps and replacing fittings.
8. Enjoy!
Once full of water, your liner replacement is complete! You can add any chemicals that are needed and start up the pump. The pool is ready for you to enjoy!
